Cross-country skiing trails
The town of Příbram and the Military Forests and Estates of the Czech Republic have also jointly agreed on a system of trails for this winter season, which the state enterprise managing most of the Brdy Protected Landscape Area will leave for cross-country skiing trails in the winter season and will not plough or otherwise modify them as part of winter maintenance.
Also this year it will be possible to use the backbone of the Brdská skiing route from Zaječov through Dlouhý vrch, Houpák and Tok to the Brdské sedlo and further to Prague and Teslín. It will be followed by a system of other trails similar to last year's. According to him, the Brdské routes will again be connected to a number of suitable starting points on the outskirts of the protected landscape area in both the Central Bohemia and Pilsen regions, which should spread out the influx of people interested in the Brdské routes.
This year, Nepomuk, Láz, Bohutín and Příbram-Orlov are also suitable starting points with transport or visitor parking capacities. And also Obecnice, Zaječov, Teslíny, Strašice, Dobřív, Mirošov, Skořice and Míšov.
The current situation: there is about 20 cm of snow on the Brda ridges, but there is heavy frost on the trees, in some places there have already been falls of larger trees and tree tops, which are bent under the weight of frost and snow. The military forests have already issued a warning that there is a danger of falling trees or branches and this continues to persist. Conditions are not yet ideal for tractor tracking, with little snow yet. From the side from Příbram to Tok the track has already been cut by cross-country skiers.
