Four Sundays full of Christmas atmosphere

Every Advent Sunday in Příbram offers a unique opportunity to soak up the Christmas atmosphere, enjoy music and traditions, and spend time with family and friends.

30 November at T. G. Masaryk Square

The opening of Advent will be big again. Visitors will enjoy an Advent market full of the smells of mulled wine and Christmas delicacies, a creative workshop for children and, of course, the lighting of the Christmas tree. This year, Pyroterra with the Angel Show will provide the surprises. The atmosphere will be made more pleasant by the local choirs Písnička and Canzonetta, the music group ZUŠ Příbram I, the singer-songwriter Bára Klára, Žalman and Co., and the Rožmitálská rustic in the Church of St. James. Children can also enjoy the Children's Book Day at the J. Drda Library.

The Advent atmosphere will move to Březové Hory, where the singing group Hokus Pokus, the ensemble from the Březové Hory Primary School Souhvězdí and The Grizzly Brothers will perform. The main attraction of the programme will be a mobile bell-ringing band. There will also be stalls with Christmas goodies.

Silver Sunday: 14 December at 17 November Square

The Advent programme will take place on 17 November Square. Visitors can look forward to performances by the Dušnice Choir, the Rebels, Bacha Baby and HasArt from the Antonín Dvořák School of Music. The highlight of the event will be the concert of the band Ginevra. And Christmas sparklers with you.

Golden Sunday: 21 December with the Christmas carriage

On the last Sunday of Advent, a Christmas carriage with a shepherd will pass through the town. Children and adults alike can experience a fairytale end to Advent.

Ice rink and Christmas village

This year's Advent season will be enlivened for the first time by the Christmas Ice Rink, which has been installed on 17 November Square. Visitors have the opportunity to try out the ice rink right in the centre of the city. On weekdays it is available from 9.00 to 13.00 for schools and kindergartens in Pribram and from 14.00 to 20.00 the general public can visit the rink. On weekends and during the Christmas holidays the rink is open from 9.00 to 21.00. Admission is 80 crowns for children under 15 and 120 crowns for adults. The 30×15 metre rink will be open until 21 January, with refreshments and skate rental available.

Fairytale Devil Novak

After a year's hiatus, the popular devil event in the Nový rybník area is returning. On Friday, 5 December, from 16.00 to 19.00, the area will be transformed into a fairy-tale devil party. Visitors can look forward to a fairy-tale show, St. Nicholas with a gift, performances by pupils of the Antonín Dvořák School of Music, and a special guest appearance by Jaroslav Uhlíř with his band and the Hours of Singing programme. The evening will end with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Hell with devils, heaven with angels, children's workshops, photo booths, a fairy-tale nativity scene and refreshment stands will be open throughout the event. Admission is 150 crowns in the online pre-sale (szmpb.cz), 200 crowns at the door. Children under three years of age and ZTP/ZTP-P holders are admitted free of charge.

Advent on Svatá Hora: peace, singing and spiritual pause

In the run-up to Christmas, Svatá Hora will offer a rich cultural programme, including Advent concerts, traditional roratic masses and the popular nativity scene exhibition. New this year are two "midnight masses". The first will be on Christmas Eve at 5pm and will be aimed at families with children. The second will take place later in the evening at 10pm. Visitors can also look forward to singing at the manger, a nativity light and many other opportunities to come together. Advent and Christmas at Holy Mountain will be filled with music, spiritual traditions and shared joy.

Advent at the Mining Museum: Christmas traditions and underground stories

At the end of this year, visitors to the Mining Museum Příbram can look forward to a rich Christmas-themed programme. The exhibition at Březové Hory will include, for example, a large-scale Třebechovice Vokoun's nativity scene, the Anna Mine's cache room will be open for a pre-Christmas concert, and the Vysoký Chlumec open-air museum will also be open. Letterbox and surprises from Santa Claus

Again this year, a letter box for Santa Claus is placed in the 17th November Square, where children can put their wishes. Each small letter or picture becomes a magical message for Santa Claus himself. Parents can also prepare a little surprise for their children - just download the prepared template (for a girl or a boy), fill in the name and print it out. A simple little thing that will put a smile on your face.

For the smell of mulled wine

Traditionally, the Advent atmosphere includes the opportunity to stop by a stand for punch or mulled wine. The stalls on 17 November Square will be open from 21 November to 21 January at the following times:
Monday-Friday: 14.00-20.00
weekends and holidays: 9.00-21.00

On T.G. Masaryk Square, you will be able to stop by the stall from 30 November to 6 January. It will be open every day from 14.00 to 20.00.

Christmas gifts from the Information Centre

The city's information centre in Pražská Street offers a range of original gifts for loved ones. Books, T-shirts, mugs, children's games and other small items are on sale, as well as regional delicacies and Christmas decorations from Pribram. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (until 1 p.m. on New Year's Eve). It will be closed only on 24-26 December and 1 January.
