Coronation of Our Lady of St. Mary of the Hills this year at the end of June

Svatá Hora will celebrate this year the 293rd anniversary of the crowning of the statue of Our Lady of Svatohora. It was first held on 22 June 1732 on the occasion of the placing of gold crowns on the heads of the Madonna of St. Mary and her Son. The date of the feast is set by papal decree for the third Sunday after Palm Sunday, and is therefore moved each year with the date of Easter.

At 4.45 p.m., a lecture by Věra Smolová, entitled The Coronation for the Third Time and a Little Differently, will take place in the cellar. At 17.00 the Holy Mass will begin. From 18.00 to 19.00 there will be a concert in the Basilica, followed by the prayer of the Holy Rosary at the Coronation Altar at 19.00. At 7.30 p.m. the Mass of the Vigil will be celebrated. After it is over, there will be a procession of lights.
