Spring pilgrimage to the pearls of Berounsko, Brda and Podbrdsko
The tourist destinations of Beroun, Brdy and Podbrdsko and the Ultreia association have jointly prepared the third year of the spring walking pilgrimage in search of architectural and natural pearls, which will take place on Saturday 26 April and will open this year's tourist season.
The aim of the spring pilgrimage is to offer visitors the opportunity to discover interesting places in the region, to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of nature and to experience the feeling that pilgrims have felt when wandering to holy places in the past. The route will lead through the beautiful landscape of the Brda Ridges and the Bohemian Karst. The pilgrimage will be free for participants. Anyone can go on it.
The pilgrimage will start on Saturday morning in front of the Beroun train station. Everyone can set off at his or her own pace, however, at 8:15 a.m. it is possible to join a group with a guide.
The route from Beroun will lead to Tetín, a place associated with the life of St. Ludmilla, a princess and the first Czech saint. For those interested, a guided tour of the churches of St. Ludmila and St. Katherine will be available around 9:00. The route will then take you through the Koda National Nature Reserve, the Korno village conservation area, the town of Liteň, the village of Svinaře and Halouny, on the edge of which you will immerse yourselfin the Brda forests.
Afterwards, you will continue to the Skalka pilgrimage site, which is a unique place with the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, a former monastery, 14 chapels of the Stations of the Cross and a hermitage. The genius loci of this place attracts people's attention from afar. For those interested, a tour of the site will be available at 15:30. The tour will also take place as part of the nationwide event Gates of Monuments Wide Open. Saturday's tour will end on the square in Mníšek pod Brdy.

The event is organised by the Berounsko Destination Agency, the Brdy and Podbrdsko Tourist Area and Ultreia with the support of the Central Bohemian Region.
