The lookout tower is built in a beautiful location above the Vltava River, on its right bank, just below the Orlice Dam.

In good visibility, it is possible to see southwestwards to the Šumava, where you can see many peaks such as Boubín, Libín, Poledník or Klet'. The closest within reach is the pilgrimage church Maková near Smolotel. The lookout tower itself is best visible from the surroundings from Krásná Hora nad Vltavou, Kamýk nad Vltavou, but also from the turn off the Strakonice road towards the Orlík dam, from its long straight part.

It was built in 2014-2017 on its own and exclusively from private funds without subsidies. Spruce and larch timbers 22 x 22 cm, metal stainless steel connecting elements and stairs were used as construction materials. It has a total of 9 floors and a total height of 29.70 m. A ramp was once built on Krchov Hill, 489 m above sea level, which was used by hang-gliders and paraglider pilots in northerly winds.

Below the hill is the former swimming pub Šefrovna and on the opposite side of the Vltava River, on its left bank, is the settlement of Žebrakov. The Kamýk Dam on the Vltava River can be seen below. Another dominant feature is the Zduchovice rocks to the north and the Altán lookout, much used by tourists from Kamýk nad Vltavou. The lookout tower is located on the red tourist trail and near the intersection of red and blue.

The lookout tower Milada was named in honour of the builder's mother in her name, and was opened in July 2017.

In the immediate vicinity, the municipality of Milešov nad Vltavou operates the 3 largest campsites on the Orlické Dam, the Trhovky, Bor and Popelíky campsites. It is possible to get off the steamboat that takes tourists to Orlík Castle and Zvíkov Castle directly at Popelíky, the pier is less than a kilometre from the lookout tower. For tourists, it is accessible by road, on foot along the tourist trail, and by water during the summer holidays. Pedestrians and cyclists can get directly to the lookout tower, for cars there is a parking lot about 200 meters at the foot of Krchov hill directly on the asphalt access road from the settlement Hřebeny - Přední chlum. From the dam of the Orlické dam, the distance on foot along the blue marker is 1.5 km, by car along the asphalt road 4 km.

When the tower is closed, you can buy a tourist stamp in the nearby village of Milešov nad Vltavou, year-round at the municipal office at the Czech Post office.

It is a beautiful place in the middle of a very busy, yet wonderfully hidden location of the central Povltava region.

There are excellent refreshments right at Rozhledna Milada, oriented according to the season.

Distance from Příbram: 27 km.
