Discover Litavka in a whole new light. The nature trail offers stories, games and treasure hunts

The nature trail in Litavka Forest Park was established around eleven years ago. It is now undergoing a significant transformation, which involves more than just the replacement of information panels. As part of the ‘Modernisation of the Vojtěch–Litavka Nature Trail’ project, the outdoor facilities in both forest parks are being refurbished and expanded, two iPlaygrounds are being created, and a charging station for electric bikes has also been added to Vojtěch Forest Park.

However, the most noticeable change is the new information panels. Visitors will find twelve of them in Litavka Forest Park and a further two in Vojtěch Forest Park.

From wetlands through mining to a forgotten cable car

The new panels do not rely on long blocks of text. Much more space is given to pictures, stories and small activities, ensuring that children will also enjoy the experience.

The trail takes visitors into the world of wetlands, forests, ponds and riverbanks, whilst also highlighting how significantly the local landscape has been shaped by human activity. You’ll learn about the former mills, mining and ore processing, as well as other stories linked to the Litavka Valley.

A key feature of the information panels is the original artwork by Lukáš Fibrich, around which the individual themes are structured. Children can also search for hidden objects in the illustrations and complete other tasks. The trail therefore aims not only to convey information, but above all to encourage discovery.

Come and discover it on 3 September

On Thursday 3 September, from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, a special programme will be held in Litavka Forest Park, during which visitors can try out the upgraded trail.

Children can look forward to a treasure hunt taking them from one stop to the next. They’ll find the answers directly in the texts and illustrations on the panels, so to complete the tasks, they’ll have to walk the entire route. At the start of the trail, there will also be a stand run by the Příbram Children’s and Youth Centre offering further activities. A small reward awaits children who complete the treasure hunt.

Not just new panels

The modernisation also extends to the facilities in both forest parks. The project includes the installation of 31 benches, 15 litter bins and a bicycle rack made from recycled old clothing.

Another new feature is the iPlaygrounds, which will combine a walk in nature with a mobile app. Via transmission points located throughout both forest parks, they will offer visitors interactive tasks and physical activities. They are primarily intended for families with children.
