Cultural summer in Příbram begins

Summer is here and with it a wide range of cultural events that you definitely can't miss.

June, July and August will offer concerts, festivals, theatrical tales and traditional festivities. Are you looking forward to it? We certainly are, because this year's summer programme in Příbram promises a lot of experiences, a great atmosphere and moments that you will never forget.

Music stars under the open sky

The Summer of Music in Příbram will offer a wide variety of concerts across genres that will delight a wide audience. The programme is designed to appeal to lovers of energetic rock, the contemporary pop scene and listeners who appreciate softer acoustic tones or ageless Czech legends.

The opening act will be Divokej Bill (30 June), who guarantee a strong concert atmosphere and thrilling energy. Their performance promises an unforgettable evening of singing, dancing and live music. This will be followed by a concert by Marek Ztracené (11 July), who is renowned for his ability to create an exceptional bond with the audience. His emotive songs and familiar refrains will appeal to listeners of all generations.

As part of the popular "Summer in Příbram" series(18 July), there will be one special evening during which three popular performers - the band Jelen, Poetika and Sebastian - will perform. Together they will create an atmosphere full of summer comfort, pleasant melodies and positive energy.

A special musical experience will be Fest Revival Příbram (25 July), which will take the audience through the decades. There will be songs performed by revival bands paying tribute to such names as Waldemar Matuška, The Beatles, ABBA, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lucie and Queen - including a symphonic finale.

Fans of rock music should definitely not miss the Rock in Příbramfestival (2 August). Škwor, Olympic, Arakain, Panoptiko, Morčata na útěku and Walda Gang will take the stage .

The musical legend of this season will undoubtedly be Marie Rottrová (9th August). Her performance will remind you of the timeless hits that are firmly rooted in the memory of several generations and have not lost their charm to this day.

The whole series will end with the popular band MIG21 (5 September). Their concert will be a stylish end to the summer season - with exaggeration, humour and dance rhythm that will carry on in Příbram for a long time.

Fun for children and the whole family

Summer in Příbram will also offer a rich programme for children and families - and there will certainly be plenty to choose from. Days full of games, music, creativity, exercise and fun encounters are waiting for you, and you won't forget them.

One of the highlights of the children's programme will be the Novák Fest (22 June) - a big family day full of fun that will bring a truly colourful show. The popular Karol and Kvído, parkour master TARY, the energetic Barbora Poláková and chef Jan Albrecht with a gastro show will take the stage . Among the attractions there will be wakeboarding, adventure mini-golf, mobile laboratory, NHL Global Fan Tour, meeting with the Paw Patrol and most importantly - a 100-meter inflatable obstacle course, the largest in the Czech Republic! In addition, there is a wide selection of booths, gifts for the first arriving children and competitions for great prizes. Admission is a symbolic 150 CZK, children under 18, disabled and seniors are free.

On the wave of playfulness and a little bit of craziness continues the Fesťáček, which takes place on 26 July in Jerusalem near Příbram. The second edition of this original festival promises punk fun for little rebels and their parents. You can look forward to the performances of Pískil se vrací, La Putyka, Zhunderbolt and Nosálci, as well as a varied accompanying programme provided by DDM Příbram, the Yamaha Music School and the Vlásek hairdressing studio.

And now something for those looking for a quieter atmosphere, a connection with nature and moments for the whole family. On Saturday, June 21, at 4:00 pm, the Solstice Welcome will take place - a celebration in the meadow near the Junior Club that combines tradition, movement, creation and a spiritual dimension. The program will offer yoga, upcycling workshops, a painting workshop, magic henna, a fragrance corner, activities for children and a fire show. Live music, refreshments from Vesmírek Bistro and a beautiful message dedicated to Mother Earth will complete the atmosphere. Admission to the event is free.

The family atmosphere will also be brought to you by Thanks! Fest, which takes place on Friday, June 13, at 4 p.m. at the New Pond Summer Cinema. The festival is a thank you to blood donors, paramedics, firefighters, police officers and others who help others. Raego, Michal Horák, Jazz Faces, UDG, and Anna K. will take the stage and headline the evening. Tickets are not on sale - they are available to active blood donors or paramedics and employees of the emergency services.

And we must not forget the most traditional event of the Příbram summer - the Prokopská pilgrimage, which will take place this year on 5 and 6 July. Fair attractions, carousels, stalls and the smell of trdelki will be combined with a historical programme at Březové Hory. You can expect a festive parade of miners, a rich programme in the Mining Museum, cultural performances, period scenes, fairground attractions, Old Bohemian markets and a thematic commemoration of the 150th anniversary of reaching a depth of 1000 m in the Vojtěch mine.

If you are a fan of spiritual traditions, pilgrimage life or cultural history, then the celebration of the 293rd anniversary of the Coronation, which will take place on 28-29 June 2025 on Svatá Hora, should not escape your attention . A weekend full of Masses, processions, prayers, concerts and accompanying programmes for children and adults awaits you. The culmination of the celebration will be Sunday Mass with a procession and Marian devotion at the Coronation Altar.

Příbram is serving up a summer full of flavours this year! Don't miss the Wine Basket on 21 June at Theatre A. Dvořák. You can look forward to a carefully selected selection of wines from leading Moravian wineries, modern gastronomy and pleasant musical accompaniment by DJ Tomáš Vácha.

Before school duties start up again and the work pace picks up, treat yourself to one more day of relaxation. The Novák Picnic, which will take place on Saturday 30 August in the Nový Rybník area, is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the last of the holiday sun, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. This popular event will offer a variety of tastes from all over the world - more than 30 stalls will be set up with a variety of gastronomy, from exotic specialties to popular street food. Refreshing beverages will also be on offer - prosecco, homemade lemonades, beer from microbreweries and a selection of coffee. The event starts at 10:00 and will last until 19:00. Admission is 70 CZK, children under 12 are free.

Theatrical fairy tales in the forest

Want to enjoy culture in a different way? Head to the Skalka Forest Theatre - a place where stories take place in the open air and the backdrop is the trees themselves. The summer programme will offer fairy tale performances for children and a varied selection of titles for adult audiences.

The youngest viewers can look forward to classics such as Goldilocks (13 July), the fairy tale The Prince and the Evening Star ( 3 August) or the popular Krkonoše Fairy Tales (31 August), which includes Krakonoš, Trautenberk and Anče s Kubou.

For adult audiences there is a wide range of productions - from Lemonade Joe (24 June), If a Thousand Clarinettes (25 June), Figaro (4 September), The Best Age for a Funeral (27 June, 28 June and 3-5 July), to the popular shows Caveman (12 July) and Cavewoman (16 August).

The theatre season will also be complemented by musical evenings, with performances by Robert Křesťan & Druhá tráva (1 Aug) and Naďa Válová & Canzone Příbram (30 Aug). Entertainment will also be provided by a stand-up performance by A. Frauenberg (8 Aug).

Summer cinema under the stars

Summer, a blanket, a film and a starry sky overhead - the summer cinema in Příbram simply has its own charm. And this year it will offer you pleasant evenings with a varied film offer. In the open-air environment you can enjoy romance, family films, adventure and action blockbusters in an atmosphere that a classic cinema can hardly replace.

In July it is shown from 21:30, in August and September from 20:30. Tickets are available exclusively at the door before the screening, with no advance booking required. Just bring a blanket, arrive early and enjoy a summer evening with a movie.

Bridget Jones: Mad with Love (1 July)will open the programme , followed by the adventurous Minecraft film (8 July), which will delight smaller audiences and fans of the gaming world. Domestic productions include the new film The Sea in the Yard (15 July) and the sequel to the successful comedy Vyšehrad Two (29 July). For children's audiences there is also the classic Lilo & Stitch (22 July).

The August programme will include the family film Paddington in the Jungle (5 Aug), the thrilling Mission: Impossible - The Last Stand (12 Aug), and the adventurous return of the dinosaurs in Jurassic World: Rebirth (Aug. 19). The animated film How to Train Your Dragon (26 Aug) will also be screened .

The end of the season in September will bring superhero titles - audiences can look forward to the new Superman (6 Sep) and Fantastic Four: First Steps (Sept. 13).
