Easter in Příbram: tradition, creation and spring atmosphere

Easter is coming and in Příbram you can celebrate it in several ways. There are creative workshops, a family programme in the theatre, a reminder of old traditions in a miner's house, a journey on a historic train and Easter ceremonies on Svatá Hora.

Easter workshop at the farmers' market

The Easter programme will kick off on Saturday 21 March at the farmers' market, which this time will also include an Easter workshop for children. In addition to buying fresh regional food, baked goods and crafts, children will be able to make their own spring decorations.

The markets are the ideal place for a pleasant Saturday stop - with good coffee, local products and the expected spring atmosphere.

Easter in the theatre

In the A. Dvořák Příbram Theatre on Sunday, 22 March, a full-day programme (10.00-17.00) full of fun and creativity awaits visitors.

Children will try their hand at making Easter decorations, learn about traditional Easter customs and meet a number of cheerful characters - for example, a ladybird, bees, a hen with chicks, a sheep or spring fairies. There will also be the popular Easter bunnies, who will reward the little visitors with a small gift.

Throughout the day there will also be fairy tales in the cinema, on the Grand Stage of the theatre and in the lecture hall. The programme will also include the traditional photo corner, where you can take away a happy Easter memory.

Easter afternoon in the library

The Jan Drda Library in Příbram will also offer an Easter programme on Wednesday 25 March.

The programme will start at 1 pm in the central lending library for adults on T. G. Masaryk Square and will offer an opportunity for a pleasant spring meeting and making Easter decorations.

Easter train to Rožmital

On Saturday, 28 March, special Easter trains will run on the route Příbram - Březnice - Rožmitál pod Třemšínem and back. The trains will be led by a historic motor carriage nicknamed Singrovka or also Kachna.

Departure from Příbram is scheduled for 9.15 (the train will also stop at the Příbram sídliště stop). The expected return to Příbram is at approximately 16.30. The return journey will include a visit to the small railway museum U kolejí in Tochovice. The capacity of the historic carriage is limited, so advance reservation is required. Easter in a miner's house

On 28 and 29 March and from 2 to 5 April you can experience Easter as it was celebrated in mining families at the beginning of the 20th century. Every year, the Easter in the Miner's House event at the Příbram Mining Museum brings old folk traditions and crafts to life.

Visitors can enjoy the smell of fresh bread, folk songs and traditional decorations. Those interested can try their hand at knitting pomlazek, baking jidáš, decorating eggs with wax or creating holy pictures. The authentic setting of the historic house gives the whole event a unique atmosphere.

Easter ceremonies on Svatá Hora

Easter has a mainly spiritual dimension. On 3 and 4 April, the traditional Good Friday ceremonies and White Saturday services will take place on Svatá Hora.

The Holy Mountain offers an extraordinary atmosphere during the Easter season and is a place of pause and contemplation.
