St. Jakub Church on T. G. Masaryk Square

St. Jakub Větší Church (Jakob the Greater, sometimes stated as Jacob the Older) is probably the oldest architectonical landmark of the city.  The originally Gothic church from the first half of the 13th century was reconstructed a few times. The church was not only used for its spiritual reasons but also for protective ones. The current appearance of the church dates back to 1869. There’s an interesting fact connected to the tower clock. The minute hand indicates hours, while the hour hand indicates minutes.
